the essentials
24 hours prior
-Shower, shave and exfoliate. Do not exfoliate with a scrub. A exfoliating glove or mitt is best, a loofah won’t cut it this time! I suggest starting the exfoliating process 48hrs in advance, the more dead skin you remove-the better.
-Avoid putting on deodorant, makeup and any lotions or potions, specifically avoiding any dove products, oil of olay or products with mineral oils. these create a barrier on your skin and will not vibe with the glow you’re after!
-Deodorants may turn your armpits green but this will rinse off.
-Do not apply moisturizer after your prep shower.
-Please do not shave the day of your appointment. I would much rather you be hairy than shave too close to your appointment!
-Bare skin is best!!
-Wear loose fitting clothing, NO LEGGINGS, open toe shoes if possible and if its raining, consider and umbrella.
-Hydrate hydrate hydrate! Thirsty skin is not ideal for the most flawless tan. The more hydrated you keep your skin before the appointment, the longer your tan will last.
the first shower
-Warm water, no soap, gently use hands to brush the bronzer off your skin paying close attention to the neck and shins.
-Blot dry with a towel, do not rub.
-Moisturize with a mineral oil free, fragrance free moisturizer. You don’t need anything super fancy, cerave works great!
-You will see the cosmetic bronzer wash off-this is normal! You WILL feel like you washed your tan away, you didn’t! It takes 12-24hrs to fully develop
-Avoid sweating for 24hrs, pools, oceans and hot tubs for 48hrs. Ideally, skip the hot tub altogether while you have your tan. Hot water will cause it to fade the quickest. No saunas, either!
-Avoid lotions and potions containing mineral oil.
-Avoid all Dove products!
-For the best results, moisturize twice per day. With proper care, your tan could last for 7-10 days. Please note, everyone’s skin is very different and your tan will only last for as long as your skin allows.
-It will take a full 24hrs for your tan to fully develop!
